Okay, so this is the kind of stuff that makes me jealous of not living in a big, fun, crazy city…

The event is called “Bring Your Own Big Wheel”. It’s a big wheel race down Lombard Street (Yeah… San Francisco’s snake-like LOMBARD STREET). No rubber wheels allowed.

As the first winner of the event wisely puts it: The race is about a constant effort to try to slow down. This year’s photos on flickr, a video, and other links at the official BYOBW web site tell it all. Make sure to see the cape and foam outfits, the crashes, and the passion. Absolute greatness!

It happens every Easter Sunday, so I may witness one some day.

I’d say you live in a big city already, it’s just a little on the “not so crazy” side. :) We have the art car parade coming up here in Houston. I’ve always wanted to see that!

At least, I’ve decided that I’m done with suburbia. Next time around I want to live in the city. Sorry for the kids if they don’t get a backyard. Ours looks like trash these days anyway.

I like our half suburbia/half city lifestyle. I honestly don’t know if we’re considered the suburbs or the city. It’s really neither… I’m with you, the true ‘burbs are for the birds! ;)
