Snow Flake Design

MakeWeb Design • May 13th, 2006

Having a boring day? I have a suggestion for ya: Make a digital snow flake.

A few nights ago I spent an hour playing and made these 15 pieces. As an experiment, I tried to make a real one by folding a sheet of paper and attempting to cut it… FAILED MISERABLY. With so many folds needed, my poor scissors could not handle it. But even if I had counted with great cutting equipment, I probably could have never achieved the intricacy of some of these designs.

Snow Flakes

Personally, I love all my babies and I’m very happy with how each one turned out… How different they come out every time. But for the sake of rankings, I think my favorite among these are 3, 4, 5, 9 and 12. I think a lot of cool logos, web graphics, designs, etc could come out of this exercise.

What’s your favorite? Or better yet.. Go play, and show me YOUR creations…

These are really beautiful. A lot nicer than when I did it. I think 4 is my fave. But I may be biased, that is my lucky #.

These are beautiful - I can see these used in a lot of web designs. I like 5 and 12 the best. I’d have a go at making one, but I wouldn’t have a clue on how to go about that. Not sure we have the right software…. :)

Petie, see the links above on the post.
They take you to a web page where you can make snow flakes. You cut, preview, undo if you want to, preview again. Then, when you love your piece, you can save it and download it.
