New Year’s Eve 2002

Life • November 26th, 2006

With the Holidays coming so soon, today I’ve started working on the digital Christmas greeting we’ll send out to our friends and family this year. Compared to last year, I didn’t think I had enough ammunition of events happening in 2006, but I was surprised by the amount of images I was able to collect. So many in fact, that I think this year I may do something a little different than the Flash slide show we sent out last time. The project is a little more ambitious… We’ll see if I have enough time to do it.

As I was going through the photos I found this little nugget that always makes me laugh…

When: New Year’s Eve, 2002; a little past 12:00, so in reality: Jan 1, 2003
Where: Dallas, TX. First party we hosted at our first home.
Who: Joey, Wayne’s date (I can’t believe I don’t remember her name), me, and Wayne (Joey’s best friend from college).

Joey, Maria, Wayne and date

What: Four tipsy fellows dancing to Prince’s “Sexy MF”

Yes… I know… This is the typical silly home video you do right after you get your new digital camera out of the gift wrap. But it still makes me laugh every time I see it.

My favorite moments:

  • Throughout a lot of the video, Joey keeps fixing his pants. I don’t know what he was trying to do… It looks almost compulsive.
  • The perfect coordination of Wayne and his date at some point of the song. It looks as if they had choreographed their moves.
  • The “let’s just look at ourselves” line.
  • My crazy dancing in front of the camera, and Joey slapping my butt to the rhythm of the music.

Ok, have I stirred enough curiosity for you to watch it?…

No??? Oh well… Can’t blame you. After all this is a “Funnier with Tequila” entry.
Yes?!… Cool! It’s just 1 minute long. Here you go:

Click on the image, and press the play button (the movie won’t start playing automatically)

Are you ready for the Holidays?

Giggling at work! That is so funny! The guy worried about being on the opposite side. He was really concerned about that. LOL.

:) And now that I think about it, I wonder: On the opposite side of WHAT?… Ohhhh… I know: We were watching the recording real-time on our TV. Maybe Wayne was “upset” to be showing up on the opposite side of where he thought he should be.
