Please update your Mafe Maria feeds

I guess the novelty (not the joy) of blogging has finally started to wind down, but after over a year of having started Mafe Maria, I’m finding myself caring less and less about how many feed subscriptions this site has.

For one, I am not sure that all 21 subscribers currently reported by FeedBurner are good and real. Several could be duplicates from the same people on different readers. Many could be feed scrapers conveniently sucking the blood out of me and then selling it, like hedious capitalist vampires. Maybe I just lost interest after having apparently lost a lot of subscribers from my HUGE peak at about 35 back before the first trimester of pregnancy sent me on a temporary blogging hiatus.

Yes, it’s nice to have some feed statistics… But the only reason why I’ve been redirecting my feeds to FeedBurner was my curiosity for the daily number of subscribers, and how many people had clicked on my latest post. Having lost interest for the first number, and being able to get the second plus much more info from Google Analytics, I have very little reason to keep using FeedBurner. I much prefer to take control of my feed pipeline and finally be able to take full advantage of the AntiLeech plugin I installed back when the Bitacle debacle made us all roar in anger.

Of course I care about how many regular readers I have. I guess comments give me some insight into that… So any few lurkers out there (if any), please start commenting and let me meet you. I’d much rather know you via your opinions than through a vague statistic.

Now, please: All of you who really follow this site, please–please update your URLs to my RSS feeds on your feed readers. Some time before my next post (maybe as soon as tonight), I’ll delete my FeedBurner feed. As a courtesy, FeedBurner will redirect any requests for the old feed to the right one during the next 30 days, but if after that period your feed reader is still pointing to http://feeds.feedburner.com/mafemaria, we’ll lose touch. So, just make sure that your feed reader points to:

http://www.mafemaria.com/feed/ (for all entries)
http://www.mafemaria.com/feed/?cat=1 (if you’re not interested in my blah blah blah, and only want to follow Playground entries)
